The Missouri Options Program (MoOp) was initiated by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in 2002. The MoOp Program was designed to target students who have the capabilities to complete Missouri high school graduation requirements, but for a variety of reasons lack the credits needed to graduate with their class. The program was created for those students who are 17 years of age or older and are at least one year behind their cohort group. Students who successfully complete the MoOp Program will receive a Carthage High School diploma with the same honors and benefits as any other CHS graduate.
Students who are selected, will be placed in MoOp classes 2 blocks per day and in regular classes 2 blocks per day.
In order to earn a diploma, students must:
1. Pass the Missouri State HiSET test
2. Pass all regular classes
3. Display proper behavior
4. Maintain good attendance
